Retailer's Last Holiday on Facebook
After the highly publicized sale of Zellers assets to Target and the announcement that the Zellers brand would stop operations in 2013, a very interesting business challenge came AmoebaCorp's way. How does Zellers keep customers engaged over the next 2 years, before the doors officially close? The answer came from Zellers AOR john st. advertising who engaged AmoebaCorp to realize Festive Finale, a tongue-in-cheek Facebook campaign that poked fun at Zellers marketing executives leaving the final decisions on sales and events to Zellers customers as they packed their things and prepared for extended vacations.
The entire experience lives within the Zellers Facebook environment and is housed within a number of tabs offering lots of unique functionality. Customers were able to record their own radio commercial, vote on items to go on sale, download coupons and watch a number of humorous videos to keep everyone engaged along the way.
